DESCRIPTION OF THE LEGAL ENTITY AND ITS MAIN TASKS

Infraestruturas de Portugal is the result of the merger of REFER (rail infrastructure operator) and EP-Estradas de Portugal (road infrastructure operator). Infraestruturas de Portugal is responsible for managing the infrastructure of the Portuguese railway network and road network, one of the national critical infrastructures. Infraestruturas de Portugal’s mission is to manage the rail and road network in terms of construction, conservation, maintenance, management of property assets and capacity management in order to provide the market with a competitive, efficient, safe and environmentally sound transport infrastructure. Infraestruturas de Portugal manages 17,874 km of road network and 2562 km of rail network.  IP Telecom is the unit within Infraestruturas de Portugal providing essential ICT services for road/rail operations. 

Being the infrastructure manager (railway and road) we possess a valuable historic database related with traffic, occurrences, damages, maintenance and operation of the infrastructures. Beside this we are the final user of the developments to be achieved in the project. As so our main focus will be risk identification and analysis, maintenance procedures optimization, action plans to minimize the impact and allow quick recover,  the definition of new guidelines to the implementation of more robust, reliable and safe infrastructures. All of this will be implemented, tested and validated at the test sites that will be conducted in our network.


CV OF THE PERSONS

​​Ana Tomaz (Female) has strong knowledge of the infrastructure sector, with a specialization in public-private partnerships, as a result of more than a 15 year career in the sector. A large and diversified experience both in the private and in the public sector, in middle and in top management, as a consultant, designer, team leader, manager and member of administration board. She has very relevant experience in project management and in road and rail safety. She is Results and challenge oriented, and focused on creating business efficiency. She has leadership and multidisciplinary team management skills.

Francisco Ganhão (Male) his background ranges from the stage of huge investments in creating and renewal the road and railways infrastructures to nowadays where the needs focus on the optimization of that networks, the challenge of management raises the need of better understand and information concerning the assets and implies innovative approaches.As such he participates or was responsible for the following activities: Installing signalling projects in Lisbon area; Implementation of railway complementary safety systems; Development of innovative projects in railways;
